Fury at Remembrance Day fines
This is a very sad story and just emphasises how much of a concern this important event is to so few people in this country.

It was interesting to note how two people who turned up to the Remembrance service I went to on Sunday arrived in time for the two-minute silence and left promptly after commenting that they had "seen it now." Seen what exactly? Do people feel an obligation to turn up and watch other people pay their respects?
I think it’s unfortunate that councils are keen to crack down on illegal parking and collect money rather than to address actual problems with provision of public transport or adequate parking. Even though I try to walk to places whenever possible, I can relate to those who feel frustrated having received the fines. I got fined one Sunday evening when I took my disabled father out for a meal. I was fined because I did not pay for a parking ticket in a car park that had only recently started to charge in the evenings without my knowledge and without adequate signage to that effect.
