Brother Cesare is a Capuchin monk... and the lead singer in a heavy metal band. No, really!!!

Inspired by a Metallica concert he went to over 15 years ago, Brother Cesare sings to "convert people to life", covering topics like sex, drugs and alcohol. Who ever said that heavy metal was all about devil worship?

    Sounds like a modern take on the folk songs of old, Joan Baez, Julie Felix et al. We could do with a singing monk in our village - might liven things up a bit. What do the other monks thiink? Practising at night must be a bit awkward.

    Do you remember ZZ Top whose beards and hair got longer on every album cover! This guy would fit in well with them.

    Pandapuss, when you mentioned practising, I got the image in my head of a monastery high up on a mountain side with heavy metal blaring out from some hall somewhere.

    RW, beards are obviously the fashion! :)
