'what I want to know is: who said they could do it? Given that I may not climb a ladder to unblock my gutter without attending a course and carrying out a risk assessment, why are they allowed to simulate the creation of the universe?'

Well, to be fair, they've been researching and developing the thing for decades. We've had plenty of time to ask such questions. I must admit that it's a relief that they know when it's a good idea to switch the thing off!
