   Apparently, the breed is a Scottish Fold. The kittens are born with straight ears, but for some of them, their ears will fold over at about three or four weeks. Due to the way they are bred, the poor things sometimes end up with a degenerative joint disease. Apparently, they can still hear okay, but just not so well.

   There you go! You learn something new every day!
